You negotiate the kanban size based on usage, lead-time and batch size and deliver 100% on time.

Great blog,

/SteveSteve@ETAChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07299477560257722900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16711894.post-19099841549266139402010-03-22T11:21:33.988-04:002010-03-22T11:21:33.988-04:00When you can't flow, you pull. Having a good PFEP to determine what should be on pull (and triggered by kanban) is probably the best way to determine production needs...in my humble opinion.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16711894.post-3587164788727215222010-03-15T19:16:51.041-04:002010-03-15T19:16:51.041-04:00Hi Jeff,

Kanban is a countermeasure not the ideal condition.

I'm having a blast in my new job. I have already worked with many great lean practitioners working on improving and sharing ways to make it flow.

Thanks for asking.

MikeMike Wroblewskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03451872136821100772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16711894.post-30818125442194338002010-03-12T10:37:29.249-05:002010-03-12T10:37:29.249-05:00Mike,

I've been saying for years that people need to think of kanban as a workaround when they can't establish flow. Perfect flow, like on an assembly line, doesn't need a kanban.

By the way, how are you liking the new job?

JeffJeff Hajekhttp://www.velaction.comnoreply@blogger.com
